A thermal imaging survey can be carried out as a standalone inspection or an add on to an EICR. Thermal imaging is a non obtrusive method of finding faults before they become a problem. Many electrical faults build up over a period of time and produce excess heat long before they become apparent and cause problems electrically.
Thermal imaging surveys can help to identify and rectify these faults at an early stage. This can avoid costly damage to equipment and extended downtime, resulting in loss of production or major inconvenience.
These surveys can be carried out as a standalone report or in conjunction with an EICR. Some clients prefer a combination of both, a full EICR every 3 or 5 years depending on requirements and thermal imaging surveying in between to highlight potential problems.
